Browser extension

Save the page you are reading

The WHT.day extension saves articles, images, videos, X posts — or just the text you have highlighted — directly into your archive. It captures the article text as you see it, so saves survive paywalls and dead links.

Available for Chrome and Firefox. No account data is used until you choose to sign in.

Chrome, Edge and Brave

Installed from the Chrome Web Store, which also delivers updates automatically.

Add to Chrome
  1. 1

    Open the Store listing

Select Add to Chrome above to open the verified WHT.day listing.

  2. 2

    Add the extension

On the Chrome Web Store page, select Add to Chrome and approve the browser prompt.

  3. 3

    Pin and connect it

Pin WHT.day to your toolbar. Open it, choose Sign in to WHT.day, complete sign-in in the tab that opens, then return to the extension to save your first item.

Firefox

Signed by Mozilla and installed straight from this site — version 1.3.2.

Install for Firefox
  1. 1

    Start the install

Select Install for Firefox above. Firefox asks whether to allow this site to install an add-on — choose Continue to Installation, then Add. (If Firefox downloads the file instead, press ⌘O — Ctrl+O on Windows — and open the downloaded file.)

  2. 2

    Review what it does

The install prompt notes that the extension handles website content: when you save a page, its address, title, readable text and image reference are sent to your own archive — nothing is collected until you save. See our privacy policy.

  3. 3

    Connect it

Open the WHT.day icon in the toolbar, choose Sign in to WHT.day, and approve the small permission request for wht.day so the extension can connect to your account.

The Firefox build does not update itself. When a new version is released, this page carries it — reinstalling from here replaces your copy and keeps your connection and archive intact.

Ways to save

Click the icon to save the page with an optional note, or press Ctrl+Shift+S (⌘⇧S on Mac). Highlight text first and the popup offers to save just the highlighted text — including any images in it — which is ideal for clipping a newsletter out of your email. Right-click menus cover links, images and selections.
